The Mont-Saint-Michel Way

A long distance trail with a spiritual theme? Curious. And yet this what you find with the pilgrim's way to Mont-Saint-Michel which passes through the Coëvrons. From Saint-Pierre-sur-Orthe to the hamlet of Montaigu passing near Bais and Sainte-Gemmes-le-Robert, this historic route takes you on a pilgrimage from village to village, following the roads, taking the old sunken lanes through the countryside, stopping at a village church chevet. Stone pilgrims' crosses, chapels, hermitages and solitary fountains are dotted along this unusual trail where the landscape is ever-changing.
